The 3rd “New Southbound Special Needs Patients Oral Care” Training Program by Mahidol University Faculty of Dentistry in Collaboration with Chung Shan Medical University School of Dentistry

On May 24, 2021, Mahidol University Faculty of Dentistry (MUDT) collaborated with Chung Shan Medical University (CSMU) School of Dentistry, Taiwan on organizing the opening of the 3rd “New Southbound Special Needs Patients Oral Care” Training Program for MUDT dentists and dental assistants through an online platform, Cisco Webex Meetings.

In this regard, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siriruk Nakornchai, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and Postgraduate Education, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sasipa Thiradilok, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs and Postgraduate Education, gave the introduction and also provided helpful details for the forthcoming training courses for dentists and dental assistants, respectively. This third training program is carried out from May 24 until June 1, 2021. The 1st and the 2nd training courses were held in 2019 and 2020, respectively.

The main objective of this jointly training is to equip MUDT dentists and dental assistants with knowledge and practice on performing dental care for patients with special needs. In doing so, MUDT staff members and lecturers, as well as guest speakers, are invited to deliver lectures in various topics concerning oral health care for special needs patients.

All lectures and activities involved are supported and supervised by School of Dentistry, CSMU as agreed by both institutions, as part of their currently active MoU on International Special Needs Oral Care Medical Service Network.
