               1.  Philosophy and Justification of the Curriculum

                    The  Higher  Graduate Diploma Program in  Orthodontics  is  designed to  offer further educational

               experiences for master-degree students in orthodontics by fully integrating didactic, and craniofacial research
               with advance clinical orthodontic practice. The program strives to provide a full range of comprehensive

               clinical experiences including applications of new  technologies and innovations in the rapidly evolving
               nature of modern orthodontic practices.

                    The graduate  will  receive clinical experiences in  diagnosis,  treatment planning, and  clinical

               management of  various orthodontic  problems including patients  with  cleft lip  and  palate  and  other
               craniofacial syndromes. Such experiences will enable the graduate to become highly competent orthodontists
               according to World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO) standards. The program also emphasizes ethical and

               professional conducts as one of the educational objectives.




               2.  Objectives of the Program
               At the completion of the program, the graduate of Higher Graduate Diploma Program is qualified
               according to the graduate qualification standards as follows:

                    -  Be orthodontists who have professionalism, moral conducts and ethics in accordance with
                       professional standards
                    -  Apply knowledge and understanding in orthodontics and others related fields in providing

                       orthodontic treatment
                    -  Implement research and lifelong learning skills for knowledge update in modern treatment
                       techniques and technologies to keep up with advancement in orthodontic practice

                    -  Collaborate with others in providing orthodontic treatment and in maintaining professional
                       networking

                    -  Have information technology skills in performing research analysis and proper scientific
                       presentations
                    -  Provide an appropriate comprehensive orthodontic treatment as a part of a multidisciplinary team

                       in patients with dentofacial deformities, complicated malocclusions, sleep apnea, or other
                       associated syndromes
