Microhardness tester is used to test the hardness of a material, and working by aligning a diamond pyramid indenter under a light microscope and loading it onto a surface with a standard weight. Vickers and Knoop indenters are available for microhardness testing with test loads at 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, 300, 500 or 1,000 gf and dwell time range from 5 to 40 sec. Indentation is shown by eyepiece lens: 10X magnification, and objective lens: 5X, 10X or 50X magnification.
