On May 5, 2026, Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University (DTMU), hosted the Clinical Dental Student Orientation for the 2026 academic year. The event was designed to comprehensively prepare students as they transition into full clinical roles and begin real-world patient care.

The event was honored by Associate Professor Bundhit Jirajariyavej, Dean of DTMU, who delivered the opening remarks. He emphasized the paramount importance of professional ethics, responsibility towards patients, and continuous skill development to achieve excellence in dentistry.

To ensure a smooth transition from preclinical theory to hospital practice, students met with the executive team and deputy deans to receive briefings on essential guidelines, which included:

  • Academics and Discipline: Guidelines on course registration, rules, regulations, and an overview of the dental hospital’s operational systems.
  • Safety and Treatment Standards: Advice on clinical practice, healthcare service systems, medical emergency response protocols, and international standards for Infection Control.
  • Learning Innovation: Training on exam management software and digital patient record-keeping systems to enhance data collection and treatment analysis.

During the final sessions, students met with the Educational Affairs team to learn about registration, elective courses, and the use of the exam management software for patient data recording. Additionally, they were introduced to the Student Affairs and Alumni Relations team, who provided valuable information regarding student welfare, mental health care, and support systems aimed at promoting a high quality of life throughout their clinical years.

This orientation successfully laid a solid foundation of understanding, boosting students’ confidence as they step forward to become high-quality dentists ready to deliver healthy smiles to the community.
