On April 30, 2026, the Street Health Volunteer Medical Network, in collaboration with the H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s Mobile Dental Service Center at the Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University (DTMU), and the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth), organized a “Mobile Clinic” activity. This initiative aimed to provide essential oral health check-ups for the homeless population in Bangkok, elevating their overall well-being and increasing their access to dental care.
During the event, Assistant Professor Komsun Lapauthaya, Assistant Dean for Special Projects at DTMU, led a dedicated team of dentists, staff, and volunteers to the Baan Im Jai former Maen Sri Waterworks site. The team provided comprehensive oral health examinations and offered valuable advice on proper daily dental care.
This collaborative initiative is driven by the goal of reducing inequalities in healthcare access, particularly among vulnerable populations such as the homeless. These individuals frequently face significant barriers regarding healthcare rights and financial limitations. By offering these mobile services, the partnership ensures that everyone has an equal opportunity to achieve good oral health and an improved quality of life.
