On April 24, 2026, Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University (DTMU), co-organized “Mid-Year Discussion of Asian Chief Dental Officers Meeting 2026” via Zoom. The delegation was led by Professor Dr. Waranun Buajeeb, Dean’s Advisor and Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Oral Health Education and Research at Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University, along with Associate Professor Dr. Tippanart Vichayanrat, Deputy Dean for International Relations and Organizational Communication and Lecturer Dr. Raksanan Karawekpanyawong from the Department of Community Dentistry, both of whom serve as WHO CC Committee Members and Co-Secretariats of ACDOM.
The meeting focused on providing strategic information regarding the WHO Service Package Design and Implementation (SPDI). This framework is designed to guide member countries in designing and planning Universal Health Care (UHC) systems effectively.
Furthermore, the session served as a platform for regional dialogue to support oral health system assessments and systematic service planning. A significant milestone of this meeting was the agreement to conduct a joint practical workshop during the upcoming 16th ACDOM, which is scheduled to take place in Sabah, Malaysia, in September 2026. This partnership underscores DTMU’s leadership in co-organizing regional dental public health initiatives.
