Academic Conference on “Dentistry for Special Needs,” Uniting Experts for International Standards

On March 27, 2026, Associate Professor Bundhit Jirajariyavej, Dean of Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University (DTMU), presided over the opening ceremony of the academic conference on “Dentistry for Special Needs” at the Debaratana Auditorium on the 4th floor on the 50th Anniversary of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Building, Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University. The event was also broadcasted via a closed Facebook Live group.

This conference is a collaborative effort among the Department of Advanced General Dentistry, the Special Care Dentistry Association of Thailand, and the Continuing Dental Education Center and Academic Affairs section. The objective is to serve as a central platform for exchanging knowledge and best practices in providing dental care for the elderly and patients with special needs.

The event was honored by expert speakers from various institutions who shared their knowledge and experiences, including:

A major highlight of the conference was the comprehensive integration of perspectives. Both expert speakers and families of individuals with special needs shared their direct experiences in accessing dental services. This aims to create a profound understanding and promote cooperation between healthcare professionals and caregivers, ultimately leading to the sustainable development of a better quality of life for patients and individuals with special needs.
