On March 26, 2026, the Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University (DTMU), organized a practical workshop titled “Smoking Cessation Practice” for 6ᵗʰ-year dental students. This initiative aims to prepare them as professional healthcare providers who actively participate in campaigns and assist patients in quitting smoking.
The main objective of the project is to provide participants with an in-depth understanding and academically accurate counseling skills. The focus is on clinical application to effectively help patients reduce and quit smoking, which positively impacts both their oral and overall physical health.
The event was honored by distinguished guest speakers from the Art and Culture Institute for Development, who shared communication techniques and behavioral change processes. These are crucial skills that enable students to properly approach and motivate patients.
The workshop was held at the Somporn Ruangphaka Meeting Room in the Learning and Recreation Center Building, 5ᵗʰ floor, DTMU
