DTMU Hosts Senior Farewell and Bai Sri Ceremony to Prepare New Graduates for Their Professional Dental Careers

On March 25, 2026, Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University (DTMU), hosted the Senior Farewell and Bai Sri Ceremony to congratulate and prepare the new graduates for their journey into the dental profession. The heartwarming event was held at Debaratana Auditorium on the 4th floor on the 50th Anniversary of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Building.

Associate Professor Bundhit Jirajariyavej, Dean of DTMU, presided over the ceremony and delivered an inspiring speech to the soon-to-be graduates Associate Professor Dr. Somsak Mitrirattanakul, Deputy Dean for Undergraduate Education, reported the event’s objectives. This year, graduates from two programs participated: Doctor of Dental Surgery Program (DTMU 53) and Doctor of Dental Surgery International Program (MIDS 7).

The ceremony was filled with pride, featuring the presentation of certificates of honor to the Student Union and the Advisory Board. A significant highlight was the presentation of short white coats and commemorative pins, symbolizing the students’ new responsibilities as healthcare professionals.

The morning session included a special talk titled “Professional Dental Organizations: Roles New Dentists Cannot Overlook” by Dr. Adirek Sriwattanawongsa, President-Elect of the Dental Association of Thailand. This was followed by an Alumni Engagement activity to officially welcome the new graduates into the Mahidol alumni family. In the afternoon, the atmosphere grew even more intimate with the “Gifts from Advisors” session and the traditional Bai Sri Ceremony, where faculty members bestowed their blessings and encouragement upon the graduates as they embark on their professional careers.
