On August 1, 2025, Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University (DTMU) hosted its Orientation Day for first-year dental students enrolled in both the Thai and International Programs. The event began with a warm welcome from Associate Professor Dr. Somsak Mitrirattanakul, Deputy Dean for Undergraduate Education, followed by an opening speech by Associate Professor Bundhit Jirajariyavej, Dean of DTMU.
Students were introduced to the faculty through a video presentation, followed by a session on DTMU alumni led by Assistant Professor Komsun Lapauthaya, Editor and member of the Public Relations team. The academic advisory system and the role of parents were presented by Associate Professor Dr. Pornpoj Fuangtharnthip, Chair of the Student Advisory Board.
The orientation also featured an introduction to the Master of Management Program by the College of Management, Mahidol University, and presentations on the Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) Program (Thai and International) and Ph.D. Program in Oral Biology and Integrative Biomedical Science (International Program) by Associate Professor Dr. Kongthawat Chairatvit, Chair of the Ph.D. Program in Oral Biology and Integrative Biomedical Science (International Program), and Associate Professor Praphasri Rirattanapong, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and Postgraduate Education.
Student Affairs, Scholarships, Awards, and Welfare Services were introduced by Lecturer Patr Pujarern, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni Relations. The event was held at the Debaratana Auditorium, 4th Floor, H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Building, commemorating its 50th Anniversary.
Doctor of Dental Surgery Program (Thai Program)
Students were introduced to the teaching system and preparation for the DDS Thai Program by Associate Professor Dr. Pattarawadee Leelataweewud, Chair of the Thai Program. The session also included an overview of the Mahidol Wittayacharn Scholarship Program by Assistant Professor Dr. Montree Rattanjanchai, Lecturer of the program. Additionally, students learned about health and wellness services, scholarships, and student welfare provided by the Mahidol Service and Benefit Division. The session concluded with a visit to the Sirindhorn Dental Museum.
Doctor of Dental Surgery Program (International Program)
The International Program orientation was led by Professor Dr. Waranun Buajeeb, Chair of the International Program. Students were also introduced to student affairs, scholarships, awards, and welfare services by Lecturer Patr Pujarern, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni Relations. The session was held in Meeting Room 302–303, 3rd Floor, H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Building, and included a visit to the Sirindhorn Dental Museum. Students also received information on health and wellness services, scholarships, and student welfare from the Mahidol Service and Benefit Division.
