On July 30, 2025, the Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University (DTMU), organized the 7ᵗʰ edition of the “DTMU Volunteer for Good Deeds in Remembrance of the King’s Teachings” project. The activity took place in the Ban Wang Ree community, Nakhon Nayok Province, where participants built a check dam as part of a sustainable watershed management initiative inspired by the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s royal projects. The project was held in honor of His Majesty King Rama X on the auspicious occasion of his birthday anniversary on July 28, 2025. In this regard, Associate Professor Dr. Rochaya Chintavalakorn, Deputy Dean, led a team of 60 staff members in the activity.
The project aimed to reduce the severity of flash floods, retain water within the area, and restore ecological balance. Additionally, the check dam helps reduce soil erosion and increases moisture in the surrounding area. Additional benefits included minimizing soil erosion and increasing local moisture levels. As part of the program, the group also visited the Khun Dan Prakan Chon Dam ridge and Wat Maneewong in Nakhon Nayok Province.
