From November 26-28, 2024, Professor Dr. Waranun Buajeeb, Dean’s Advisor and Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Oral Health Education and Research at Mahidol University Faculty of Dentistry, participated in the WHO Global Oral Health Meeting 2024.

In this regard, Professor Dr. Waranun delivered presentations during side events on the topics “Preventing Oral Cancer: A Collaborative Global Approach to Early Detection and Risk Reduction” and “Monitoring and Surveillance of Oral Conditions.”

Additionally, Associate Professor Dr. Tippanart Vichayanrat, Deputy Dean for International Relations and Organizational Communication, attended the Dinner Reception at Centara Grand at CentralWorld, Bangkok.

The three-day WHO Global Oral Health Meeting welcomed over 400 participants, including national oral health leaders, universal health coverage (UHC) program representatives from 194 WHO member countries, experts, and international organizations.

The meeting aimed to reaffirm global commitments to the Global Oral Health Action Plan 2023–2030, emphasizing oral health as a vital component of universal health coverage. It also focused on scaling up national efforts to prevent and control noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), with a specific emphasis on oral health.
