On December 16, 2025, the Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University (DTMU), led by Associate Professor Bundhit Jirajariyavej, Dean, welcomed Professor Robert Spears, Associate Dean for Student & Academic Affairs, and Professor Sudarat Kiat-amnuay, Director of Strategic Training and Academic Affairs, from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Dentistry (UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry), USA.

The DTMU representatives participating in the meeting included:

Both institutions discussed potential areas of academic collaboration, including student and staff exchanges, joint academic activities, and the development of future cooperative initiatives to strengthen educational and research capacities.

The meeting took place in the Faculty Meeting Room on the 17th floor of the 50th Anniversary of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Building, DTMU.

On December 9, 2025, the Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University (DTMU), led by Associate Professor Bundhit Jirajariyavej, Dean, joined the signing ceremony to renew the Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) for the International Special Needs Oral Care Medical Service Network.

The signing ceremony was held together with representatives from the following institutions:

College of Oral Medicine, Chung Shan Medical University, Taiwan
– Professor Chuan Hang Yu, Chairman of School of Dentistry
– Professor Chia Tze Kao

Rajanukul Institute, Department of Mental Health, Ministry of Public Health
– Dr. Thaweesak Sirirutraykha, Director

WeCare Dental Clinic
– Dr. Kulaya Ratanapridakul, Director

Yuwaprasart Waithayopathum Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Hospital, Department of Mental Health, Ministry of Public Health, Samut Prakan Province
– Dr. Dutsadee Juengsiragulwit, Director

Autistic Thai Foundation
– Mr. Chusak Janthayanond, President

Representatives from several institutions also joined the ceremony via Zoom. The event was witnessed by Assistant Professor Dr. Surakit Visuttiwatthanakorn, Director of the Dental Hospital; Associate Professor Dr. Tippanart Vichayanrat, Deputy Dean for International Relations and Organizational Communication; Associate Professor Dr. Pornpoj Fuangtharnthip, Vice Chair of the Executive Committee of the Center for Promotion and Development of Quality of Life for Older Persons; together with executives from DTMU. The ceremony took place at Meeting Room 301, 3rd Floor, the 50th Anniversary of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Building., Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University.

The main purpose of this MoC is to enhance the referral system for patients requiring special care (Special Needs Patients), while strengthening the capacities of dentists and related personnel to ensure that patients receive quality, equitable, and safe dental services. It also aims to promote personnel and student exchanges, as well as future collaborative research.

The Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University will serve as the main coordinating unit for the network and as an academic center for special care dentistry. This work is supported by the expertise and knowledge from Chung Shan Medical University, which is a key partner working with the Ministry of Health of Taiwan to advance dental services for special needs patients.

On December 3, 2025, Associate Professor Bundhit Jirajariyavej, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University (DTMU), together with Associate Professor Dr. Tippanart Vichayanrat, Deputy Dean for International Relations and Organizational Communication, and Associate Professor Dr. Jinthana Lapirattanakul, Head of the Department of Oral Microbiology, welcomed Professor Kazuhiko Nakano, Dean, Graduate School of Dentistry, the University of Osaka, Japan, and Professor Ryota Nomura, Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Graduate School of Biomedical and Health Sciences, Hiroshima University, Japan.

The three institutions discussed approaches to academic collaboration, joint curriculum development, and initiatives to strengthen education and research. The discussions aimed to enhance academic quality and long-term cooperation between DTMU and partner universities in Japan. The meeting took place on the 17th floor of the 50th Anniversary of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Building at DTMU.
