PLO 1 Use information technology, management, research, and life-long learning skills for self-development in accordance with the principles of the 21^st century learning

1.1 Use basic searching techniques to obtain evidence from electronic scientific databases appropriate with identified problems in dentistry.

1.2 Analyze information from various sources, i.e., contents from books, journal articles, essays, or other published materials using evidence-based for decision making.

1.3 Select independent pedagogical approaches appropriately for self-directed learning in the context of dental education.

1.4 Use problem-solving skills to deal with dental problems appropriately and effectively.

1.5 Evaluate societal, cultural, and economic changes for self-adaptation in certain situations.

1.6 Apply research methods and skills for all learning activities to maintain a standard of the dental profession.

PLO 2 Diagnose oral and maxillofacial diseases accurately, using data gathering from patients following the professional standards of the Dental Council of Thailand.

2.1 Gather information from the patient’s history and symptoms in order to identify dental problems.

2.2 Use essential clinical examination techniques suitable for dental problems.

2.3 Select laboratory diagnostic tests, radiographic examination techniques, and other investigations with necessity and appropriateness to patient problems.

2.4 Evaluate or identify both medical and dental condi-tions of patients related to their dental chief complaints.

2.5 Formulate initial and differential diagnoses for oral and maxillofacial diseases.

PLO 3 Provide a holistic dental treatment plan in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, giving priority to a patient-centered care and safety.

3.1 Determine prognosis, risk assessment and problem synopsis that affect the treatment plan’s formulation.

3.2 Formulate appropriate comprehensive dental treatment plans and alternatives with patients’ involvement in accordance with professional standards using a holistic approach.

3.3 Estimate the degree of difficulty, associated risks and propose referral plans to other collaborating dental experts for complicated dental treatments.

3.4 Provide consultation to healthcare colleagues based on knowledge in dentistry and other relevant.

PLO 4 Perform therapeutic dental procedures to manage oral and maxillofacial diseases in uncomplicated cases according to the pro- fessional standards and patient safety.

4.1 Perform preventive, interceptive, and/or corrective dental procedures for patients with oral and maxillofacial diseases to restore function, esthetics and biological health.

4.2 Provide restorative care for uncomplicated oral and maxillofacial diseases to maintain or replace the dentition to proper anatomical, functional and esthetic form.

4.3 Carry out, order or manage dental laboratory works related to restorative care.

PLO 5 Manage dental problems using a holistic approach, following professional standards and ethics of the Dental Council of Thailand.

5.1 Use medications appropriately with patient conditions under proper management of side effects

5.2 Manage dental complications and medical emergen-cies frequently found either during or after dental treatment.

5.3 Manage patients’ behaviors, including pain, stress, and anxiety, using pharmacological or non-pharmacological techniques in children and adults.

5.4 Evaluate clinical outcomes following a holistic care concept to reflect a quality of treatment, leading to quality enhancement.

PLO 6 Promote oral health care and prevent oral diseases in individual, family, and community levels, in consideration of relevant etiology and factors, using the holistic health care approach.

6.1 Provide oral health education at an individual level using the concept of holistic care.

6.2 Provide oral Health education to the public at the individual, family, or community level, in accordance with concepts of health promotion and disease prevention, collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

6.3 Evaluate oral health status, cultural and environmental differences, as well as the importance of the healthcare system in Thailand, collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

PLO 7 Communicate with patients and their caregivers, a multidisciplinary team, as well as the public properly to the role of dental professionals.

7.1 Communicate with patients and their caregivers to  obtain relevant information in order to give meaningful advice and manage disease conditions.

7.2 Conduct accurate medical/dental records ethically in compliance with international standards.

7.3 Convey disease conditions, treatment plan, prevention, and management, appropriately to a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

7.4 Select technologies and digital innovations to efficiently support the communication with patients and colleagues.

PLO 8 Demonstrate dental practice administrative skills productively and ethically in accordance with a selected quality assurance system.

8.1 Manage a physical working environment for safety and infection control of a dental treatment area.

8.2 Maintain patient records management to ensure continuity of care for patients.

8.3 Apply principles of entrepreneurship to start and run a dental business.
