On March 26, 2026, Associate Professor Bundhit Jirajariyavej, Dean of Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University (DTMU), presided over the opening ceremony of the Academic Conference and Special Needs Dentistry Networking of Thailand. The event was held at the Debaratana Auditorium on the 4ᵗʰ floor on the 50ᵗʰ Anniversary of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Building.
The project was organized by the Center for the Promotion and Development of the Quality of Life of the Elderly to integrate collaboration among the main organizations driving special needs dentistry in Thailand. It garnered significant interest from representatives of government agencies, educational institutions from various faculties of dentistry, and related professional clubs.
This conference focused on advancing proactive policies to build and expand the dentistry network for the elderly and individuals with special needs, aiming to elevate equal access to oral health services. It also provided a platform to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and discuss best practices among experts from various organizations. Furthermore, discussions among service provider network representatives were held to lay the foundation for sustainable cooperation in both educational and practical sectors.
This gathering of the network marks a significant step in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with special needs through more specific and comprehensive dental care processes at the national level.
