On March 4, 2026, Department of Community Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University (DTMU), hosted the “Fieldworks Expo” Academic Year 2025 at the Sirindhorn Dental Museum, 1st Floor, 50th Anniversary of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Building. The event featured field training presentations by 6th-year dental students.
During the expo, students showcased their projects, summarized their field training outcomes, and shared invaluable real-world experiences gained from working in community hospitals. The presentations covered 20 hospital groups across 5 provincial field practice areas: Nakhon Pathom, Kanchanaburi, Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, and Lopburi.
The “Fieldworks Expo” serves as a vital platform for students to present innovative projects and practical solutions to oral health challenges discovered during their fieldwork. The program emphasizes “integrating knowledge into practice” to align with the national public health system. Through this experience, students not only advanced their clinical skills but also gained a deeper understanding of social and cultural contexts, as well as collaboration with local community networks and healthcare professionals in remote areas.
This event strongly reflects the Department of Community Dentistry’s commitment to producing well-rounded dental graduates who are highly aware of community oral health issues and ready to drive sustainable academic and social services. This aligns perfectly with DTMU’s core mission of creating genuine societal impact for the well-being of the people and the nation.
