“You should hold the institution that is educating you in high esteem

and be proud of it. So don’t just memorize what you study to earn a living,

but take to heart what you were taught and use it as a basis for your life.”

Director’s Welcome Message

Welcome to the Mahidol International Dental School (MIDS), the only international undergraduate program for dentistry in Thailand. After our long experience in dental education, our DDS International Program continues to evolve towards the Faculty’s mission of becoming the leading dental institution in the country in terms of the quality of education and research.

Our vision is to produce the next generation of dentists, who have developed 21st century skills who will not only place their expertise in the service of individual patients but also significantly impact the health and well-being of our nation and the global community.

Being a part of the Mahidol University Faculty of Dentistry gives us the same conviction to provide an excellent learning environment for our students utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and the most modern instruments available today. We create an atmosphere where our students can easily adapt and experience a holistic and a hands-on experiential learning approach to education, in order to develop and expand their knowledge and master the necessary skills to become a successful dentist in the future.

On behalf of our MIDS community, I am honored to welcome you once more to the Mahidol International Dental School, where we build and develop world-class professional dentists.

Mahidol University originates from Thailand’s first hospital, Siriraj Hospital, founded in 1888, and the hospital’s medical school is the oldest institution of higher learning in Thailand, granting its first medical degree in 1893. Later becoming the University of Medical Sciences in 1942, the University was renamed with great honor in 1969 by H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej after his own father. H.R.H. Prince Mahidol of Songkla, who is widely regarded as the “Father of Modern Medicine and Public Health in Thailand”.

Since then, Mahidol University has diversified from its original strengths in medicine and science, so it now also excels in social sciences, arts and humanities. With its many prestigious honors and achievements, Mahidol University has become an internationally acclaimed institution, recognized for its academic excellence.

The Faculty currently operates a dental hospital at Phayathai Campus, and the Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Dental Hospital, as part of the Golden Jubilee Medical Centre near the Salaya Campus. Both centers combined offer the most comprehensive dental care in the country.

The Faculty is proactive in developing its research capability and maintaining its policy in supporting both basic research in dental science and clinical research, to improve the over-all dental health of the country.
