The 13h IDCMR Congress

The Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University, as IDCMR Secretariat office, supported hosting and participated in the 13th International Dental Collaboration of the Mekong River Region Congress (IDCMR) at Yangon, Myanmar

On August 24, 2018, Professor Dr. Waranun Buajeeb, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University, along with H.E. Dr. Myint, Union Minister of Myanmar and Professor Shwe Toe, President of the Local Organizing Committee delivered welcoming speech to the opening session of the 13th International Dental Collaboration of the Mekong River Region (IDCMR) Congress with the theme “Bringing Friendship from Mekong to Ayeyawady” co-hosted by University of Dental Medicine, Yangon and University of Dental Medicine, Mandalay at Sedona Hotel, Yangon, Myanmar during August 24-25, 2018.

Distinguished speakers from Australia, Japan, Myanmar, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam and Thailand including Assistant Professor Dr. Tippanart Vichayanrat (Head, Department of Community Dentistry) and Assistant Professor Supakit Peanchitlertkajorn (Lecturer, Department of Orthodontics) from the Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University were invited to deliver insightful lectures providing scientific dental knowledge for the participants.

Moreover, faculty staff, researchers and Department of Pediatric Dentistry’s postgraduate students from the Faculty of Dentistry actively participated in the congress as oral and poster presenters, and this two-day scientific event attracted over 300 participants who are dentists from IDCMR member institutions from Cambodia, China PR, India, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

The event also included a Dean’s Council Meeting, where the leaders of IDCMR member institutes had reviewed their past collaborative activities, shared their expertise in the field of dentistry and discussed future collaboration.
