On August 7, 2024, Mahidol University Faculty of Dentistry (MUDT) held the closing ceremony for the Low Sodium Campaign: “Good Life, Less Sodium”. Associate Professor Bundhit Jirajariyavej, Deputy Dean of MUDT, presided over the event, which was also attended by Associate Professor Dr. Sarawut Thepanondh, Dean of the Faculty of Public Health.

The ceremony featured reports on the event’s outcomes from several deputy deans of Mahidol University: Assistant Professor Komsun Lapauthaya, Assistant Dean for Special Projects (Faculty of Dentistry); Assistant Professor Dr. Teera Kusolsuk, Deputy Dean for Faculty Welfare and Special Affairs (Faculty of Tropical Medicine); and Assistant Professor Dr. Thanakrit Neamhom, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Sustainable Development (Faculty of Public Health).

The highlight of the event was the award presentation for the Good Life, Less Sodium Video Contest. Awards were given by Associate Professor Bundhit Jirajariyavej, followed by a group photo session. The ceremony took place at the Debaratana Auditorium on the fourth floor of the 50th Anniversary of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Building.

This campaign, jointly organized by the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, and Faculty of Public Health, aims to drive policies to reduce sodium consumption in alignment with Mahidol University’s Healthy University: Low Sodium Policy. The goal is to raise awareness of the negative health effects of excessive sodium consumption, which contributes to chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
