The 13th Asian Chief Dental Officers’ Meeting (ACDOM) 2023, themed “Oral Health: Time for Action,” was successfully hosted by Mahidol University Faculty of Dentistry in collaboration with the Bureau of Dental Health, Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health, Thailand. The event took place at Krungsri River Hotel in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Thailand, from December 8 to 11, 2023.
As the WHO Collaborating Center for Oral Health Education and Research, Mahidol University Faculty of Dentistry played a significant role in contributing to the success of the meeting.
The opening remarks were delivered by Dr. Benoit Varenne from the World Health Organization (WHO) headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, and Clin. Prof. Dr. Sirichai Kiattavorncharoen, the Dean of Mahidol University Faculty of Dentistry.
This meeting served as a platform for chief dental officers, directors of oral health institutions, and oral health academics to engage in discussions regarding oral health policies and services in both Asian and global contexts. Furthermore, the meeting aimed to support to the oral health activities spearheaded by WHO.
