Mahidol University Faculty of Dentistry Take Part in the 17th IDCMR Congress in Langkawi, Malaysia

On October 14, 2023, the faculty executives and staff members of Mahidol University Faculty of Dentistry (MUDT), acting as the IDCMR Secretariat Office, actively engaged in the annual “17th International Dental Collaboration of the Mekong River Region (IDCMR)” congress, centered around the theme “Putting Research into Practice.” This event was organized by the Faculty of Dentistry at Universiti Teknologi Mara, Malaysia, and took place from October 14-15, 2023, at Aloft Langkawi Pantai Tengah in Langkawi, Malaysia.

To officially start the 17th IDCMR, Dean Clin. Prof. Dr. Sirichai Kiattavorncharoen, alongside Dean Prof. Dr. Aida Nur Ashikin Abd Rahman of the Faculty of Dentistry at Universiti Teknologi Mara, delivered opening remarks to all the participants.

During this year’s congress, MUDT members played various essential roles. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jeeraphat Jantarat, Head of the Department of Operative Dentistry and Endodontics, was invited as a keynote speaker. She presented lectures titled “How to Manage Curve Root Canals” during the Pre-Conference Workshop and “Regenerative Endodontics: Mahidol Studies” during the Plenary Session I.

Moreover, lecturers, postgraduate students majoring in pediatric dentistry and maxillofacial prosthetics, undergraduate students, and faculty staff members actively participated in an oral presentation .

This two-day scientific meeting featured a variety of activities, including Keynote Lectures, Plenary Sessions, Oral Presentations, Student Chapter Activities, Deans Meetings, as well as a Gala Dinner and Cultural Night. The event attracted hundreds of participants from IDCMR member institutions from Cambodia, China PR, India, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam, fostering valuable collaborations and exchanges.
