Mahidol University Faculty of Dentistry (MUDT), in partnership with SMO Dent MU, a student association of MUDT, recently organized the “Wai Kru Ceremony: Paying Homage and Respects to our Teachers” for the academic year 2023. In this regard, Clin. Prof. Dr. Sirichai Kiattavorncharoen, Dean, as chairperson, along with the faculty executives, lecturers, and students attended the ceremony taking place on August 31, 2023.

Student representatives paid tribute to the lecturers by asking for their forgiveness and blessings at the beginning of the ceremony, followed by laying pedestal trays and garlands in front of the lecturers to pay respect, singing a teacher appreciation song in harmony, and participating in a textbook anointing ceremony.

After that, the Dean, as a chairperson, addressed moral guidance and presented awards and scholarships to the students, including research presentation awards for the fourth-year students of the academic year 2022. These ceremonies took place at the Debaratana Auditorium on the 4^th floor on the 50^th Anniversary of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Building.

After finishing all ceremonies in the Debaratana Auditorium, the faculty executives, lecturers, and students moved to a hallway on the 7^th floor to lay a pedestal tray and a garland in front of a statue of Emeritus Prof. Isara Yuktanandhe in recognition of his role as “the First Teacher” of MUDT.
