The Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University, as IDCMR Secretariat office, supported hosting and participated in the 14th International Dental Collaboration of the Mekong River Region Congress (IDCMR) at Kunming, PR China.
Professor Dr. Waranun Buajeeb, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University, along with Professor Li Song, President of Kunming Medical University and Professor Xu Biao, Dean, School of Stomatology, Kunming Medical University and the President of the Local Organizing Committee delivered welcoming speech on October 18, 2019 to the opening session of the 14th International Dental Collaboration of the Mekong River Region (IDCMR) Congress with the theme “Digital Dentistry –Opportunity & Challenge in the Mekong River Region” hosted by the School of Stomatology, Kunming Medical University at Kunming Kai Wah Plaza International Hotel, Kunming, Yunnan, China during October 18-19, 2019.
This year’s congress is made even more special as it coincides with the Fortieth (40th) Anniversary of the School of Stomatology of Kunming Medical University. Distinguished speakers from ChinaPR, Hong Kong, USA and Thailand including Dr. Syrina Tantidhnazet (Lecturer, Department of Orthodontics) and Dr. Pranai Nakapaksin (Lecturer, Department of Advanced General Dentistry) from the Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University were invited to deliver insightful lectures providing scientific dental knowledge for the participants. Moreover, faculty staff, researchers, postgraduate students and supporting staff from the Faculty of Dentistry actively participated in the congress as oral and poster presenters, and this two-day scientific event attracted over 300 participants and dentists from IDCMR member institutions from Cambodia, China PR, India, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. The event also included a Dean’s Council Meeting, where the leaders of IDCMR member institutes had reviewed their past collaborative activities, shared their expertise in the field of dentistry and discussed future collaboration.
