Voluntary Dental Services on the Occasion of H.R.H. Princess Srinagarindra Mahidol’s Birthday Anniversary
and the National Oral Health Day at MUDT’s Two Dental Hospitals

On October 21, 2020, Mahidol University Faculty of Dentistry (MUDT) offered restorative dental treatments at no cost; tooth filling and extraction, impacted tooth removal, dental scaling, pediatric dental care and dental radiography, for the general public (1 treatment/ 1 person) to mark the auspicious occasion of H.R.H. Princess Srinagarindra Mahidol’s Birthday Anniversary and the National Oral Health Day. The treatments took place at MUDT’s dental hospitals; Dental Hospital, Mahidol University Faculty of Dentistry (Phayathai) and Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Dental Hospital (Salaya).

In this connection, an online registration had been deployed in order for all interested participants to maintain the social distancing to prevent interpersonal transmission of COVID-19 at the hospitals, and COVID-19 testing was also implemented prior to the treatment to ensure the health safety. With serious concern over the health of dental practitioners and treatment recipients, all treatments were performed with adherence to COVID-19 precautions and preventive measures as declared by the Dental Council Thailand.

The event started with a homage-paying ceremony for H.R.H. Princess Srinagarindra Mahidol in front of her royal portrait, followed by an opening ceremony of the voluntary dental services, which are provided for 630 adults and 100 children at Dental Hospital, Mahidol University Faculty of Dentistry (Phayathai) and for 240 adults and 40 children at Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Dental Hospital (Salaya) in total. Blood donation and oral health promotion activity were also arranged to successfully conclude the event.
