The department of Oral Biology places a strong emphasis on research as a contribution of the advancement of oral biology. The eight major current research areas including:

 

1. Fluoride & Remineralization

2. Biochemistry of Oral Microbes

3. Saliva

4. Oral Cancer

5. Periodontal Disease

6. Oral & Maxillofacial Pain

7. Biology of Bone

8. Dental Stem cells

 

In addition, our department has the research collaboration within Faculty of Dentistry, the other faculties in Mahidol University and also, international universities in United Kingdom, United States of America and Japan. The department of Oral Biology is the only one that has faculty staff entrusted in The Royal Golden Jubilee (RGJ) Ph.D. Project from the Thailand Research Fund. Moreover, many staffs also have received the new researcher scholar, research scholar and advanced research scholar from TRF too.

Our publications have cited widely in textbook and international research journal. This proves the international accepted quality of our research.

 

Collaboration

 

• CRN Project in Dentistry, Office of the Higher Education Commission by Prof.Dr.Noppakun Vongsavan and Prof. Bruce Matthews, University of Bristol, United Kingdom. In the research title “The properties of axon fibers in human dental pulp”. Professor Bruce Mathews has bestowed his Ph.D. honorary degree in Dentistry, Mahidol University, academic year 2010.
